The Millionaire Next Door, Thomas J. Stanley, William D. Danko

The Millionaire Next Door, Thomas Stanley and William Danko

This book was recommended to me many years ago when I attended a Financial Peace University small group (Dave Ramsey), and I was fortunate enough to find it at a thrift store recently. I don't know what I was expecting, but this literally takes a group of millionaires and breaks them down into statistics. What kind of professions, what kind of cars they purchase, do their children receive trust funds, what houses do they live in, what kinds of investments do they make, etc. It was very informative. I found it interesting that most of the millionaires interviewed don't live according to their status. They don't live in elaborate houses and they drive used cars. They are very careful with how they spend their money and they make sure to provide for their future. Definitely worth the read if you are interested in finances.
