Creative Color for the Oil Painter, by Wendon Blake

Creative Color for the Oil Painter, by Wendon Blake

This is a book I have decided to keep. I am a professional oil painter, and this gives a good breakdown of how paints work, which ones are transparent, different painting techniques and color theory, and also gives examples of such things in pictures of famous paintings. There is a large section on color mixing, which really requires one to try it as they read along to see how the colors actually work together. Definitely a good reference book to have if you are a serious artist.
